Gael Hanauer

Gale Hanauer was born and raised in Oak Park, IL. She attended St. Giles Grade School, Trinity High School, The Harrington College of Design, and DePaul University. She has a degree in Fine Arts and worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 33 years, spending 15 years in stores and the rest in their corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates. Most of her career was in Human Resources and Gael capably performed as the Ethics Officer there for five years before retiring. A life-time Girl Scout, she still volunteers for them, and is the chair of the Villa St.Benedict charitable foundation.

Gael met her husband Roy (a Loan Officer for Bank of America) while on a work assignment in Ft. Wayne Indiana. Gael and Roy have been parishioners of Holy Cross since 1991 and currently call North Aurora home. They both worked tirelessly on the capital campaign for the CECC and Gael brought her many talents and work experiences to both the Communication Team and the Steering Team. They are the proud parents of two kitties, Sam who is fifteen and Snickers who is three. In their spare time, they each attend Adoration and help with the Manna program. They also like to read, golf and visit Arizona.

We are delighted and blessed to have Gael now working for HCCS as our Office Assistant. Her capable, warm, loving responsiveness to the needs of the staff and students is a tremendous help!
