Music

Chris Pesel

I am so happy to be teaching here at Holy Cross Catholic School. Last year was just a wonderful experience as my work for the parish was expanded to now include sharing my experience and love for music with our new students. I am looking forward to all the music we will be able to create this year using our new Orff instruments (xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, etc.), boomwhackers, and percussion instruments.

We have a new curriculum that will further engage the children from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. I also look forward to working with our Fourth through Eighth Grade students on hand chimes. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand on my 37 years of experience in music ministry, twenty-six of which have involved working with children. Church music is my priority, allowing our children to sing with such grace, even in Latin, at our all-school Masses. It is a privilege to help our students participate more fully in the Mass while also developing their understanding and appreciation for music.

This is a big year for my family, too. My husband and I will be sending our only son off to college as he recently graduated from Marmion Academy. I look forward to continuing to develop an outstanding music program at Holy Cross Catholic School.
