Teacher's Aide

Desiree Kania

I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1992 with a B.S. in Accounting. During my years of education I had classes in Early Childhood education. I am a CPA and an Illinois Board Certified substitute teacher. I had the privilege of working with our 5th graders as a teacher's aide for the 2008/09 school year at Holy Cross Catholic School.

I am a wife, married to my loving husband John, on October 1, 1994. I have been blessed with two beautiful girls Sarah and Cassandra, whom I have homeschooled for two years. I attend daily Mass, spend time with our Lord in Adoration and love to pray with others.

I am a Holy Cross Parishioner who enjoys being part of such a loving and growing community. My volunteer involvement at Holy Cross includes being a VBS crew leader for five years and part of the 2006 VBS team that developed the curriculum and facilitated sessions during the four day program. I have been a Catechist for the Religious Education program for three years and have been in the Art and Environment ministry for over three years helping to keep our church looking beautiful.

I love being a teacher's aide and I truly believe we are all children of God, wonderfully and beautifully made, deserving of respect, dignity and love.
