Religious Education

Religious EducationReligious Education at Holy Cross serves youth in grades 1 through 8 and their families, as well as the catechists who serve in this ministry.

To register, stop by the parish office and pick up a form.

Children's Ministry is for youth in grades 1 through 4. It is here where children will receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

Early Teen Religious Education is for youth in grades 5 through 8. Religious Education also includes the preparation and coordination for the Sacrament of Confirmation which is received in eighth grade.

  • Ash Wednesday Mass schedule: 6:30AM, 8:00AM, 2:10PM, 5:30PM & 7:00PM

THURSDAY , February 23rd

  • 7:00-8:00PM in Donovan Hall Diocese of Rockford Formation in Christian Chastity and Safe Environment Program for Parents of all students in the Holy Cross Religious Education Program, Holy Cross Catholic School and Homeschool Students in our Sacramental Programs.

SUNDAY, February 26th

  • Sunday School 9:45AM

Fees

Fees are due at the time of registration. If you are unable to pay the fees, DO NOT DELAY your registration! If you cannot pay in full at the time of registration, you must complete an application for financial assistance (which can be obtained at the RE Office) so we can process your registration. Your request will remain confidential.

Registrations are available in our office and on the table in the narthex. Parish office hours are: Mon. through Fri. from 8:30AM until 4:30PM. Closed from Noon until 1:00PM for lunch.

Who needs to take Protecting God's Children?

Any person 18 years and older who comes in contact with children in any of the programs we offer here at Holy Cross. That includes: RE teachers, parent volunteers, chaperones, nursery help, classroom helpers, scout leaders... again, anyone who comes in contact with children.

Reconciliation News

Youth participate in the sacramental preparation program coordinated by the Children’s Religious Education Minister in their 2nd grade year. Contact the religious education office at 630-879- 4751 ext. 110 for details.
