Holy Cross Ministry of Care

Mission:  The Holy Cross Ministry of Care's mission is to enrich the lives of people who are elderly, shut-ins, ill, disabled and/or convalescing.  This ministry brings Holy Communion to these people who are unable to worship with us here at Holy Cross Church.  This ministry also visits and prays with these people whether in private homes, residence homes, nursing facilities or hospitals.

Ministry of Care services to others:

• Distribution of Holy Communion:

  • Sundays @ 9:30AM:  Batavia Rehabilitation & Health Center (formerly Firwood)  (20+ people)
  • Sundays @ 9:30AM:  Heritage Woods (20+ people)
  • Sundays @ 9:30AM:  Michaelsons & Eckstam
  • Sundays @ 9:30AM:  Holmstad (Building A)
  • Sundays @ 10:00AM:  Holmstad (Park Manor)
  • Daily Mondays - Saturdays:  Delnor Hospital
  • Weekly to Homebound:  ~ 30 people

   

• Bible service:
  • Fridays @ 9:30AM:  Heritage Woods
  • Fridays @ 1:30PM:  Holmstad (Park Manor)

   

• Bus service with the Enriching Lives Ministry:
  • 4:15PM Mass Saturdays:  Heritage Woods & Batavia Apartments
  • 9:45PM Mass Sundays:  Holmstad (Park Manor & Main Building) & Eckstam
  • Holydays of Obligation:  Heritage Woods, Holmstad (Park Manor & Main Building) & Eckstam
  • Senior Luncheon:  4th Friday of most months

Bus service to Mass, etc.:  This ministry and the Enriching Lives Ministry bring people from Heritage Woods, Homstad, etc. who are able to travel to Holy Cross Church for Mass, Confession, senior luncheons and other church activities ... even if the people are wheelchair or walker-bound.  The bus is equipped with a lift for these people.  Future plans include bringing others unable to come to church to these events.
