New Room Parent Policies and Procedures
Elementary grade room parents will be responsible for working with the teachers to plan class room celebrations, volunteering during Field Days at the end of the year and helping with individual classroom activities when needed (ie…1st grade puts on a First Communion breakfast for 2nd grade, etc…).
Classroom celebrations will be held from 2:00 to 2:45PM for grades K-5 and our half-day Kindergarten class will celebrate from 10:45 – 11:30AM. Treats and snacks provided must be in accordance with any class allergies.
Middle School, Grades 6-8
Middle school room parents will only be responsible for supplying middle school home room teachers with supplies and treats for the class celebrations, volunteering during Field Days at the end of the year and helping with individual class activities when needed (ie…7th grade puts on a graduation dinner for 8th, etc…)
Due to Junior High scheduling, Middle School celebrations will be led by the teachers on the dates listed and held at a time of day decided on by our entire team of middle school teachers.
Head Room Parent responsibilities:
Head Room Parents must submit an Event Form (which can be found on our website or in the school office) to the classroom teacher for approval. Once a signature has been obtained, the form should then be turned into the school office at least one week before the celebration date. At this point, HCCS staff will make sure that all volunteers attending the party are in compliance with our Protecting God’s Children and Illinois Background check requirements.
Head Room Parents must also obtain classroom allergy information from the office staff. Please contact the parents of children in your class with food allergies. If there are any major concerns from the parents of children with allergies, please offer them the opportunity to supply a treat and/or snack for their child.
