A SIMPLE LAUNDRY MINISTRY: Are you able, like Saint Martha, to help care for our Lord's needs at home? Could you do an extra load of laundry once every few months? Our Altar Server cassocks require periodic cleaning. This service is provided by a team of wonderful parishioners according to a flexible, comfortable schedule. The more the merrier! Please contact the parish office staff if you would like to help beautify our liturgies in this way!

Dear Parents of Holy Cross Catholic School,
Introducing CRUSADER CASH – a way to reduce your tuition costs at no extra cost to you!
CRUSADER CASH is a gift card purchase program similar to manna. Like manna, participants purchase gift cards at face value from Holy Cross HSA; HSA is able to purchase these cards at a discount. The discount represents the earnings available to be used by our families to reduce tuition costs. Alternatively, you may donate these earnings towards our Guardian Angel Fund (tuition assistance). It’s a win/win situation for everyone!
Earnings depend on the discount associated with the merchant involved. Discounts range from 1.5% to 25%, but generally average around 5%. While this amount may seem small, the numbers add up if you regularly participate. There is no limit on the amount you can earn! The variables are the discount offered by the merchant and how much you spend.
How will the earnings be distributed? 90% of these earnings can be used towards your tuition costs, or may be donated towards our Guardian Angel Fund (tuition assistance) – you choose. The remaining 10% will be used to cover the costs of this program, primarily shipping expenses, printing costs and supplies.
Ready to participate? Here’s a “quick start” guide –
- go to www.shopwithscrip.com, establish an individual account, and enter our enrollment code 28633B212167L
- start shopping! Select gift cards from the merchants that you frequent
- print your order summary, select a delivery option, and send your order plus a payment to school by 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday
- your first order must also be accompanied by a liability waiver and registration form; read the guidelines, sign the liability waiver and registration form, and designate how you want your earnings distributed on this form
- receive your gift cards on Thursday; use your gift cards!
- marvel at how easy this is! Feel good about raising money for the school and for YOU! Tell family and friends how easy this is and invite them to participate! Place another order by next Tuesday at 9:30AM.
We need a registration form with your first order, EVEN IF YOU PARTICIPATED LAST YEAR. The guidelines and registration form are attached to this message and are also on the school website under the Crusader Cash link. In addition to letting us know how you want your earnings applied, this information is needed to satisfy parish requirements.

A Holy Cross family with a newborn who lives west of the river is interested in carpooling for the rest of this school year. They could drive your child(ren) to school in the morning and would appreciate transportation for their daughter home at 3PM dismissal. Praying Together as a Household
The Church is a big family, so each of our families should be a "little church." As such, our weekly preparation for Sunday, the Lord's Day, follows the same basic format as the Mass. We speak to God; God speaks to us. We give bread, wine and ourselves to God while God gives us His Son.
Monsignor Deutsch and Father Evans have recently created a Lord's Day prayer format for families, the domestic Church. Please pick up a Prayer Card in the Narthex which your family can follow each week as you prepare for Sunday Mass.
