Painless Speaking
Taught by Mrs. Herwaldt.
We could all learn to be a better communicator. The goal of this class is to get the student to a “painless” level of speaking. Several topics will be covered: the art of communication, reading aloud, researching and writing your own speech, delivering speeches and how to evaluate them. The class will also touch on cultural cues, etiquette in speaking situations and watching your audience for feedback. One or more books may be used as a springboard for the class. Fees required.
Texts used for class: The Public Speaking Handbook by Susan J. Benjamin (included in class fee) and Communication and Interpersonal Relationships by Dave Marks (handouts provided)
