Saint of the Month
TORCH chapters are reflective its member families, resulting in diverse and creative activities from chapter to chapter. One activity that we all have in common is a monthly focused study on a saint. Together we learn the history of the saint, focus on the qualities we can emulate, and rejoice in the realization that we are all called to be saints!
The saints of the Church are for us not only an example and inspiration, but they indicate to us how we as faithful members of the Church are a part of something much greater than we can see. We are a part of the Body of Christ, which stretches from the time of Christ to the present day and fills both heaven and earth. We can draw inspiration, strength, and assistance from those great saints who have gone before us.
The TORCH saints for this year were chosen by the Holy See in anticipation of World Youth Day in Madrid in 2011. All are either from Spain or of Spanish heritage.
