May Fridays Location Change

Our Friday meetings on May 2 and May 16 will be held at St. John Neumann in St. Charles.  The morning of May 2 will begin in the Church and proceed downstairs to the classrooms.  May 16 will begin in the Our Lady of Guadalupe chapel for Mass and May Crowning, and then proceed downstairs to the classrooms.

Coordinators Needed!

It has been a great honor to serve as co-coordinators for the last two years.  It is now time to turn over the reins.  This group has thus far endured nine years.  Our founders, Bill and Leslie Hammack, set an exemplary example.  Past leaders, Laurene Schroeder and Andrea Hornecker, have also been an inspiration to this group.  The framework of CRECHE has been established and grown into what we have today because of the influence of each of these leaders.  Your influence is needed to continue to support Catholic homeschooling families in the area.  Are you being called to escort CRECHE into the future?  If you are curious, please contact Melissa Rothengass or Sylvia Keppel to ask questions and make comments.  We are also appealing to you for names of CRECHE members you think would make a good leader.

Friday Leaders

There have been some challenges filling the schedule for CRECHE Fridays this year.  The format will change with the new school year.  How, you ask?  Just take a look at the volunteer list below.

You will see that some categories requires a team.  Each team will have the freedom to format its responsibilities.  The number of events may be split between/among you, or you may choose to work together each time.  Each team will decide what works best.  Volunteers will be awarded choice of category on a first-come first-served basis.  Please consider what your talents are and discern your best fit.  Many of you are very creative and would support the group best on the Crafts/Activities team.  Maybe you have seen some of my Saint lesson presentations and KNOW you can do better; we sure could use you on the Saint Lessons team.  Or perhaps your preschooler has enjoyed Little Saints and you want to be part of that.  Wherever your personal gifts lead you, please contact Melissa Rothengass to make sure you get your first pick of Activity.

Mom's Night Out

Mom's Night Out for the 2007-2008 school year will continue during most months to be at the home of Peggy Glenn from 7:30 p.m. till ?, usually on the first Monday of the month. Check the monthly calendar for any changes in dates or location.

For those of you new to CRECHE, this is just a casual get-together for the CRECHE moms, to sit and have a cup of coffee/tea, glass of wine, salty or sweet treats, etc., and talk, WITHOUT 10,000 INTERRUPTIONS!  It is a great way for the CRECHE moms to actually get to know each other as the individual women that they are, not just as John's Mom or Mary's Mom.  Babes in arms are welcome to come with their mothers, but otherwise it's just us gals.  We hope to see some new faces this year, to add to our cast of regulars!

Our next meeting is Monday, May 5. Hope to see you then! Questions? Contact Peggy Glenn.

Chess Club

The next meeting of the Chess Club will be Saturday, May 31st at 1:30 p.m. at the Salomon home.  Everyone is welcome!

If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to Rachel by Friday, May 30th.

We are planning to hold parent nights on the second Friday of most months. At this time we are planning on a 7:00 p.m. start time, but are open to ideas.  It is our hope, that by having it on Friday nights, more dads will be able to sneak away from work early enough to participate.
