Catholic Education and Community Center (CECC)

Catholic Education and Community Center (CECC)

The Catholic Education and Community Center (CECC) will be built for use by the entire parish community. We are blessed that our CECC will include the first Catholic grade school (K-8) to be built in the diocese in over 30 years. The CECC also will offer the much needed expansion of space for use by all of our ministries, while bringing Religious Education (RE) programs back onsite. This building will serve Our Family of Faith.

  • We will establish and maintain Catholic education programs in conformance with the doctrines and teachings of the Catholic Church and as directed by the Bishop of the Rockford Diocese.

All About the Holy Cross Development Team

What is the Holy Cross Development Team?

The Development Team (DT) is a group of parish volunteers working together to "develop" activities which will provide ongoing financial support to the Catholic Education and Community Center (new building) and increase fellowship opportunities for parishioners.

How do you become a member of the DT?

Just say "Yes!" DT members are regular parishioners who answered the call to become more involved in the parish. The DT is always looking for energetic, creative people to join in the fun! Call Joe Dant at 630-707-1397 or Elizabeth Carlson at 630-482-3474 for meeting information.

What type of activities is the DT working on?

The DT has four events planned for 2008:

1. "The Crusade" semi-formal gala on April 25th
2. Holy Cross 16" Classic Softball Tournament on May 3rd & 4th
3. Crosstown Music Festival in September
4. Christmas Greens sale in November

In addition, the DT is focused on a variety of other ongoing activities such as grant writing and donor recognition.

Do I need any particular skills to be part of the DT?

No skills required. If you're eager to get involved, don't mind a little hard work and a have a positive attitude, you'll be a perfect fit for the team.

I have children and often can't get away without them. Can I still help?

Absolutely! Children are welcome to attend the meetings - though you may find it more relaxing if you attend alone!

Working hand in hand, we can make a difference!
